B.2.1.A. April 21st (online session 10)

CLASS:
Hi everyone,
Today, as you know, I'll meet three groups of three to speak (interaction/oral mediation).

Then, at home, and to revise the grammar we saw the other day, here's further practice of impersonal clauses and passive voice (key included): you can do ex. A, C, and E. + ex. 8 page 87 (your book).
Then, write a comment to express your opinion about ONE of the issues in ex. 9 page 87.

And now, move on to unit 7D: "Grow your own clothes". Watch the video and do the activities ex. 1-6. Ted Talk Grow your own clothes (check your answers with the key I gave you last week).

HOMEWORK:
Your writing project: Storytellers...I already received two Vocaroo recordings. Now, you need to share your first ideas, brainstorming, first drafts, using the email account I created. You're being very creative!!

And...this week we're celebrating our EOI Book Week. I have created a NEW padlet where you have a proposal (see the third column). You can record your voice telling us a story inspired on titles of books you may have at home. I've posted an example. I hope you like it:) You only need to click on the symbol "+" and add your story in the column : Little things...big stories

  1. 9 - Discuss why these (...) (page 87) - More of us are living in cities.

Despite nowadays is very common to live in a city is quite impressive that it was only after 1950 that more than 50% of the population of the world live in cities!!. In the main part of the History the mankind has lived in the countryside, and that was because there weren't enough jobs in the city and also, because the humankind needed a lot of people working in farms and so on.

It was after the Industrial Revolution and later when people began to consume more and more services, and that's the reason why people began to use them, because they don't have to work in farms, and also because is in the city where you can find a wide variety of services.

  2. (Exercise 9 pag 87)
Most of us are living in cities, because there are more opportunities. We can choose among different job sectors.
If someone wants to work for an international company, they should probably move to a bigger town. For this reason, people move to Madrid to look for job opportunities and because they want to live more comfortable than they would in the countryside.

  3. More of us are living in cites.

They have came from rural places, like little village because everybody want an opportunity in big cities. Maybe they were looking for a brilliant work or to study in a good university, from my point of view, that’s the reason young people give up country life.

I used to live in a small village in Extremadura, and my parent makes the decision to come to Madrid, when I was 19. I believe they made one of the best things. If I hadn't been for them, I wouldn’t have had all the opportunities that life has given me in Madrid.
