B.2.1.A. April 28th (online session 12).

Hi everyone!
While I meet some students in our speaking session, these are the contents for today:)

CLASS
First,  go back to your book and have a look at the writing section "an announcement", page 91 and read two examples on page 152. Focus on activities 8, 9 and 10 and check your answers. Then, move on to our padlet and post an announement for something you could sell. Please, read your classmates'announcements. Which item would you most like to buy?

Then, let's correct a handout I uploaded on April 15th "Money vocabulary"  : 2.worth, 3.live off, 4. pay very much for, 5. earn, 6. pa back, 7. note, 8. from, 9. waste, 10. save, 11.pay by, 12. lend, 13. debt, 14. bill, 15. inherited, 16. charge, 17. cash machines, 18. mortgage, 19. tax and 20. account.

Now, watch the following video. Let's suppose you're a translator and you have to prepare the text for a dubbed version in English: make a list of the key words that you would use, expressions, related to shopping, money, etc...(20 words and write them as a post comment, here below). Let's compare your options:)

Now, move on to unit 8A, page 93 and do ex. 2.3.5. With those activities, we start unit 8, so here is the key of the whole unit:)

And let's finish the class by listening to  two friends talking about communication with people on Earth, page 94 ex. 8 and 9.

HOMEWORK:
For our Thursday class, let's practise passive reporting structures (it is said, it is believed) a little bit more. Listen to Dan and pay attention to what he says. Then, do the activities below. Jot down your doubts or problems to solve them online:)

Publish your collaborative writing on the story telling padlet and read your classmates' stories!

  1. Good point Iván...you're right! Do we need anything but freedom and health?
Remember the following: third singular present (does not, buys), indirect questions (what it is), and concord (shops, most).

  4. Fashion vs old- fashion, elegance, stylish, brands, trend, the best lipstick, the best lashes, incredible skin, brightness instantly, buy these and those, buy; throw away; give away, it is never enough, elegance can´t be bought or maybe it can. The coolest shop, what are you waiting for? More and more, something or somebody.
