B.1.A. April 2nd (online session 7)

Hi everyone!
That's our last class before Easter so...let's make the most of it!
First of all, remember at 11h00 I'll join those people who couldn't meet us on Tuesday (Zoom session).

CLASS:
To start with, let's correct your grammar (p. 216 A-B): click on the following key.
Additionally, to revise modal verbs and conditionals, I send you another handout for further practice (click here. Key included).

Then, let's move on to ex. 5 page 112. This activity combines some grammar (time clauses) and listening. Then, let's do ex 1 p. 110 related to vocabulary "Education" and watch the following video to learn more about the UK education system.

Then you can do the reading page 112-113 but you'll do it together. In pairs. First you speak together (on the phone, via Skype, Zoom, Whatsapp) about 6a) and then read the commnents. Then you can move on, to do the Communicative activity: "University or not?": Decide who is A and who is B: one should go to page 180 and the other one to p.184. Talk to each other: who made a better decision? Why? After talking to each other, you can post your comment here below.

To finish off, let's do some pronunciation: page 110 ex 2 (check the answers with a dictionary) and for further practice, I here send you a pronunciation activity based on a poem. We'll focus on short vowels. First, say the sounds in isolation. Then, read the poem aloud. Record it (for you). Listen to the poem twice. Repeat it and record it again. Compare both versions!

EASTER HOMEWORK:
Easter is coming and you need some rest! So, we'll stop the classes these days BUT we need to keep on working somehow. That's why I ask you:
- to prepare a monologue: choose a topic from page 113 ex 7a and use the language in 7b. Record it and paste it in our padlet with your name+date+the topic you chose.

- Exam practice I've sent you different parts: listening, reading and writing. You can send me the writing as soon as you have it.
